The Phillies released Luis Castillo. It's a bit surprising because it seemed Ruben Amaro Jr. had been happy with his play thus far. Castillo is out of the mix and the Phillies owe him nothing.
Today is Philly's final tuneup before their opener on Friday against Houston. Cole Hamels takes the mound for the second of two in the On-Deck series against Pittsburgh. Today's lineup is very likely going to be Charlie Manuel's Opening Day lineup on Friday:
